Samsung officially announced the release date of smart watch Galaxy Gear.

The representative of the South Korean company Samsung Lee Yeon Hee in an interview with The Korea Times has confirmed the date of the official announcement of smart watches Galaxy Gear. The event will occur on September 4 at the international exhibition of consumer electronics IFA 2013 in Berlin.


According to a top manager, Galaxy Gear targeted young people primarily. She did not describe Galaxy Gear in detail,device will run on Android operating system and will work without bendable display, however, Lee made it clear that such screen can be used in the upcoming models of Galaxy Gear.

Sources on the Web argue that Samsung smart clock will be equipped with built-in camera, speakers, NFC chip and module Bluetooth 4.0 LE. The gadget is likely to receive a dual-core Samsung Exynos 4212 processor clocked at 1.5 GHz and 1.67-inch display with a resolution of 320 × 320 pixels. The presence of the accelerometer will allow to control the display on the watch. The display itself is a touch, but the text input will not be available due to too small screen.


Under the IFA 2013, Samsung will also introduce Galaxy Note III. According to some reports, the unit will be built on 800 Snapdragon processor with a frequency of 2.3 GHz, and will have a 5.7-inch display with 3 GB of RAM.
