New Ranking Scheme in App Store.

Ranking the programs in the search results, App Store now depends on the rating of each individual application. This is the conclusion of the marketing specialists Fiksu.

"We are constantly monitoring the changes in positioning the applications in the online Apple store. In recent weeks, there are clear changes. After the analysis, we can say with certainty that the Cupertino-based testing a new ranking algorithm for applications in App Store ".

As the Fiksu on his blog earlier position in the SERP affect only the number of downloads and the speed with which the program is loaded. Now these two parameters added user rating.

There are two key points that should be taken into account by the developer:

  1. Rating affects the ranking of applications (in addition to the number of downloads).
  2. Now updating the ratings in the App Store is every 3 hours instead of 15 minutes as before.

As seen in the illustration, applications with high ratings (4 or more stars) increased significantly in the rank at the end of July and remained level throughout August. Programs with a rating of 3 stars or less lost much over the same period. As for applications with average grades, the new algorithm first raised their position and then returned to previous levels. As a result of their position in the search results did not change.
